These three Extensions work together to let you create a “scrapbook” of selections that you can paste or type into your documents at any time. Almost anything you can select can be assigned a QuicKey that will paste it into a document. Type Ease™ works with programs, such as terminal programs, that do not support paste functions or it can type text into dialog boxes. You can use Grab Ease™ and Paste Ease™ if you need to paste large amounts of text, graphics or a combination of text and graphics.
Grab Ease copies a selected item so that Paste Ease or Type Ease can find it. To activate Grab Ease you must assign a keystroke to it or place it in the menu. Once this is done, select an item and press the keystroke or use the menu. A dialog box will appear asking you to name the clip. Once named, your clip will be saved in a special QuicKeys 2 folder titled Clipboards.
To paste the clip, open QuicKeys 2 and select “Paste Ease” from the Extensions menu. Select the clip you want to paste from the pop-up menu. Assign a keystroke to it or place it in the QuicKeys 2 menu.
To type the clip, open QuicKeys 2 and select “Type Ease” from the Extensions menu. Select the clip you want to type from the pop-up menu. Assign a keystroke to it or place it in the QuicKeys 2 menu.
Note: Paste Ease or Type Ease will ask you which clip to paste or type if “Ask when pasting” or “Ask when typing” is selected in the pop-up menu.
To delete clips, select “Paste Ease” or “Type Ease” from the Extensions submenu, select the clip you wish to delete from the pop-up menu, then click the “Delete this Clip” button.
Note: Paste Ease must be installed and turned on for Grab Ease and Type Ease to work.
